This was not even remotely close to interference. The second baseman wasn’t within 40 feet of a piss rocket that barely glances off the runner’s calf. No other fielder had a chance at the play when the runner was struck, and the ball had already passed a fielder other than the pitcher.

It was not runner interference. It had already passed the first baseman, the second baseman didn’t have a play, and it would have to be judged that the right fielder had a chance to make the play. Because you know, rules. ...

In a bunt situation (or where the ball is hit similar to a bunt) the proper mechanics is to have left foot on the bag. It allows for better mobility and keeps the first baseman protected from having to turn with his back into the path and getting trucked. ...
