For all the whining they did about Phil Fulmer snitching on Bama cheating, at least that was behind closed doors.

Saban is acting like such a titty baby over A&M flat out recruiting better than him and it’s embarrassing.

We need a Help Board thread to get Ted back.

At least? The behind closed doors and actively looking for dirt part was what infuriated people.

Spurrier openly bitched about it like this and nobody said shite about him once the dust settled.

You are pretty much the only Bama fan I respect on this site(in real life there is tons of great ones), so I would like to hear from you

Do you think Saban had a brain fart last night? And came across a little hypocritical and stepped into something by running his mouth a little too much?

1. Fulmer was trying to buy the services of the same players
2. Fulmer turned "state's evidence" and testified as a secret witness in exchange for the NCAA staying off his program's back

Saban at least called Jimbo out to his face.

Seriously!

Ironically, I ran across one of his old posts earlier this week, and clicked on his profile out of curiosity—he hasn't posted in four months.

Where has he been?

Are you trying to pretend Bama isn’t offering the same services to the A&M recruits?

When you say behind closed doors you mean written testimony to the NCAA?

If we are then Saban was pretty foolish for taking it public. That's not his reputation.

Everyone has weak moments. Saban had one last night. In no way does he benefit for what he said. Now he brought a huge spotlight on himself and Bama. It was completely out of his character to do that

I kind of agree. Which is why Titty Baby Nicky tried to call Jimbo and apologize. Sad part is the gumps on this site won’t admit Saban needs to get in his knees and grovel when he himself tried to.

I do not think bringing up specific teams was part of some grand master plan. I think he got to about the 5th-6th minute of intelligently discussing an issue and kind of got revved up, said a few things and when he got back and saw them realized he probably went a bit far in actually calling out specific teams. Probably why he called Jimbo after. And I get why Jimbo was pissed and didn't answer.

So yea, I think he definitely said more than he wanted to. He's been pretty consistent on his "talk about what is going on without naming anyone" thing, and I think it's been pretty well done. But he definitely went over that line last night. When I first read the quotes on twitter I figured for sure I was reading one of those "tricked you" accounts that looks like a real reporter but isn't. It's just wildly out of his usual public discussion character to specifically discuss other teams/players/programs in a negative light. He'll discuss topics that clearly relate to teams/programs negatively, but he never names them. For him to do it last night was definitely a shock, to me at least.

I've heard Saban talk about these topics in-person (i.e., supposedly "off the record") several times. He has actually been on this tirade for a while, which I'm sure is obvious.

Nothing he said last night is any different from anything he's been talking about, including his frustrations, concerns, and hesitancy over certain things.

In other words, he didn't state anything new.

What he did do is refer to something/someone specifically, whereas he normally just alludes to it. So in those terms, yes, it did appear to be out of character, at least to me.

Fulmer was the biggest hero this conference has ever seen. He knew how rotten Bama's program was years ago.

While running his own rotten operation paying recruits through Western Union, recruiting kids off of other SEC teams, etc. Genius stuff by ole Pumpkin.

But, in the end, everyone reaps what they sow.
