I wish we'd play more smallball. We obviously can't rely on a hit parade so we need to manufacture runs when we get the walks that we're pretty good at drawing.

Wouldn't hurt to steal a bit more, either.

Agreed on the need to go small ball. We rely on free base runners by way of walks, errors, and the occasional HBP and have made a living on charity runs this year.

The problem is that we’re too often getting those base runners with 2 outs and unable to drive them in with base hits, hence the high number of LOB we continue to see.

Given that our homers are way down this year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see DVH start resorting to more small ball, stealing, and hit and runs.
