I always thought it such a weird quirk that the #1 and #2 seeds go to the division winners, even if one division has the top 2 records.

I guess it goes back to the idea that you can control what happens in your division because you play everyone but not so for the total conference.

Honestly tomorrow’s game doesn’t really matter all that much. Don’t be surprised if Dave goes with a lineup that looks more like it’s built for a midweek game.

You’re right. Schloss has already announced that he’s going to make some rotation and lineup changes for Saturday given that it doesn’t really mean anything for seeding, and I anticipate DVH doing the same.

DVH announced last night that McEntire will start game 3, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we see other guys in the lineup like Wilmsmeyer (+ potentially Lovich or Edmunson) with Diggs taking a seat.

It’s a little weird to have a #3 vs #5 rubber match and it be a meaningless tuneup game, but that’s how it is.

Watching Dave’s postgame from last night, he said we are indeed going to start McEntire today.

ETA: missed your edit we can double confirm McEntire

Alabama is in trouble and is now tied with LSU at 12 league wins. Auburn has taken Bama to the woodshed this weekend.

The fact that we lost two to Bama still pisses me off.

Baseball is weird. I mean, even by college sports standards it is weird.

Mac sucks. So ready for him to go.

Let him pitch against the regional 4 seed then call it a career.

It’s so weird how far he’s fallen.

He was unhittable in the 2022 postseason. Threw 7 innings and only gave up 1 run in an elimination game in Omaha for goodness sakes.

But now I don’t even think I’d trust him against the regional #4 seed.

He's fallen to worse than Ramage levels, at least for now. He leaves the ball up in the zone way too much. Earlier in the year, he was keeping it down and hitting his spots accurately.

Gonna need Mac to figure it out as we are bleeding arms.

Dossett the latest off with injury.

He leaves it up in the zone too much and that cutter isn't fooling many batters anymore

Another 0-3 day for Diggs.

This game was about what I expected with their hitting and our pitcher use. No big deal. Go through the motions in the sec tourney and get ready for regionals.

Wouldn’t mind a chance to even the season series with Kentucky on Thursday and Hagen on the mound.

Also, see if the bigger park plays in our favor for a few more hits dropping.

Yeah I was thinking we probably let Brady start on Wednesday and Hagen on Thursday. And just kinda go from there.

Vandy vs Florida in round 1 might be the ultimate sicko game of the SEC tourney.

He's fine. DVH said they had his arm thoroughly checked out because his velo had been down. They couldn't find anything so DVH said he was going to give him time off.

Rest him until the regional. There's absolutely no reason to risk injury to him or Hagen in the useless tournament.
