Nice to salvage the finale considering that the bug/food poisoning ran thru us like Taco Bell or Krystal’s gut grenades!!

Great outing by Hess holding them to one run through four innings and allowing us to get a big lead.

I think he could have gone out there in the 5th but Vaughn knows he’s struggled all year to get out of the 5th and wanted to A) let Hess leave the ballpark on a high note for the first time in a while and B) allow the bullpen to do their job.

Great win today,

Need to go 4-2 against LSU and Auburn. If we can’t do that, we probably don’t deserve a regional.

Hats off to the guys who stepped up in this series (looking at you Grant & Hamiter). Goals are still achievable - starting with a W against Troy on Tuesday night (who knocked off the 18th ranked team yesterday). Get home and get well boys! RTR!

Probably still need to win a couple in the tournament too. I hope we can win the series next weekend, but I’m thinking we may have to sweep AU on the road to get that 4-2 due to LSU starting to build momentum. That would be tough to do as well.

Alabama baseball earned a 10-5 victory over 16th-ranked Mississippi State on Sunday afternoon at Dudy Noble Field. Following the win on getaway day, the 17th-ranked Crimson Tide is now 29-18 overall and 10-14 in Southeastern Conference play.

Alabama plated four in the second before State answered with one in the home half of that inning. The Tide then widened the gap with three in the fifth and one in the sixth to make it 8-1 headed to the seventh. Following the stretch, Mississippi State was able to put up two in the seventh and a pair in the eighth but single tallies for Alabama in both the eighth and ninth ensured the 10-5 win.

The Crimson Tide bats recorded 12 hits on the day with eight of the nine starters registering at least one knock. Ian Petrutz led in hits with a 3-for-4 effort while Justin Lebron and Max Grant each recorded two-hit days. One of Grant's knocks was a three-run homer while Bryce Eblin also recorded a home run, his a solo shot.

Braylon Myers (2-1) picked up the win with 3.0 relief frames. He followed starter Ben Hess, who gave the Tide a solid outing. The junior allowed one run on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts in 4.0 innings before turning it over to his pen.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"This was a really good team effort against a Mississippi State team that is playing some of the best baseball in the country right now. I am really proud of our kids for how they bounced back and were able to salvage this game. Obviously, we did not come here to take just one game, but with the circumstances and the hand in which we were dealt, I was pretty proud of the way that we competed out there."

Tuesday's game between No. 21 Troy & No. 22 Alabama is officially a sellout!

All fans without tickets can take in the game from the outfield beyond the left field wall.

There will be a @TROYUnews Student Tailgate beginning at 5:30 p.m. in left field.

I must have missed it. What happened?

Proud of the way we at least took one game given the circumstances. Just our luck LSU is playing their best coming into our series. Nothing I wanted more this season besides post season play, was for us to light up Holman
