Yeah, because when Saban was coaching, Kirby just treated it like a normal game and never circled it on his calendar.
But now that Saban is gone, he's really going to start trying!

I admit as a life long Dawg that Kirby often overthought game planning for Saban’s Bama teams, and tried to deviate from what had brought UGA success to that point, but that’s not going to be an issue coaching against what’s his name.

I used to watch Georgia home games in my stroller on The Tracks, fricknuts. Garrison Hearst and Andre Hastings used to come to my middle school and tell us to exercise and not do drugs. Feel free to shut the frick up

Listening to some of the shitty NIL player-led talk shows on Youtube this off-season, a few of the players have already said that they've been fixating on this year's Alabama game ever since January, and you don't usually hear that from Georgia players.
Not saying that Alabama can't win. But they better be ready to run through a brick wall and bring their best game or run the risk of completely getting run trhe frick over.

It seems like Kirby just copied the Alabama program when he went to Georgia and when he faced the real thing it kind of showed.

Kirby has never said anything bad about the GOAT. In fact, he has praised him repeatedly for his time under his tutelage. I, for one, am certainly appreciative of the knowledge that Nick Saban passed on to Coach Kirby Smart. I don’t think my Dawgs win back to back Nattys without such knowledge, both on the field and off. So with that, I will say, Thank you Coach Nick Saban, and I wish you the best in retirement. It was such a great run!
