What gives?

In SEC play only:

Christian Moore: .424 BA, 19 HR, 40 RBI

Charlie Condon: .413 BA, 18 HR, 38 RBI

Jac Caglianone: .369 BA, 14 HR, 25 RBI

Will they go off of SEC stats only, or will they go off of entire body of work?

I think folks forget about him around here because we don’t go on here starting threads singing his praises every frickin day like other fanbases do about their players. He speaks for himself.

I didn’t come up with this information. I copied form a reporter that covers SEC baseball. No one is really talking about Smith being player of the year in the SEC. I do think he is SEC pitcher of the year. But I think the POY in SEC is going to one of the 3 players I posted.

Moore is leading the triple crown in SEC play right now. But Cags pitches and plays the field at a high level. And Condon has been great all year and can play like 5 positions. Gonna be fun to watch either way.

Not being bias but it's Condon.

Should be co. Both Smith and Condon.

Impossible to justify passing on either of them.

Here is last year's POY article from the SEC Network website, and it seems like they are talking about their overall stats.

Smith is great no doubt. But SEC player of the year should focus only on SEC states. Smith is by far the best pitcher in the country and should be the get the top pitching award. But a player that only plays once a week, is not gonna get over the triple crown leader in SEC play right now.

So just forgot about the current triple crown leader in SEC play?

How do they determine the POY in football and basketball, total season or conference games only?

Problem with only looking at SEC play is not all SEC schedules are equal. For example, Tennessee and UGA have the same schedule except where UT got LSU and @Auburn while UGA got @MSU and @A&M.

Smith is a little behind the 8 ball here because he only pitches 1 game a week and folks don’t get very excited about what pitchers do like they do the long ball hitters.

Hitters are the most talked about it seems.

I was told long ago that Maui Ahuna will be collecting his 2nd SEC POY award at the end of this season.
Congrat's to him.
