I watched the one about The Black Belt cause that’s where I grew up, have not been back in decades. It seems that part of the world is basically a 2nd and a half World Country teetering on 3rd world.
And it's rich knowing when liberals make fun of the south, they're inadvertently making fun of the very people they spend all day on social media virtue signaling over...

No because I'm not a woman.

I always enjoyed good writing, and John T. and the Wright whatever guy are two of the most talented living southern writers.
Yes they both have a terrible liberal white savior complex, but the show still has great writing and great photography and production value.
I like it. frick what anybody else thinks

I think they both live in Oxford. I like it too. The Season also is produced by an Oxonion, not to mention all the NYT best selling authors that live here. A lot of talent in this little town. Yes most are liberal and I am conservative but personally that chit doesn’t matter with me until it’s time to vote.

Why does he have to look exactly how he sounds??

If anything the show makes the south seem sort of endearing. It also makes the places look prettier. The one about Dublin Georgia tonight is like a Chamber of Commerce video, even though in real life Dublin is pretty damn dumpy.
The Kentucky episode with the Cornbread Mafia and moving all of the marijuana during the Ali fight was epic. I've watched it at least 5 times.

I watched an episode as it was in Hot Springs and thought it was crap. 85% of it was about a man who had moved there from New York and started a bar and how he loves it there. They even went back to NY to show where he came from. Why the heck would a show called “True South” spend that much time on a carpet bagger? There is so much to see and do in the area and they barely paid lip service to any of it.

The SEC Network is owned by ESPN. ESPN is owned by Disney.

Show supposed to be about food and southern culture but more about virtue signaling and all the injustices of the south. If you saw the episode with the hosts wife and son they all look exactly as you would imagine.

I liked the first season, but can’t watch it anymore. I think they have basically run out of topics.

He’s a major douche in real life too.

Say what you will, but he got "canceled" because he's a white guy who chooses to talk about food in the south. Seriously - the complaint from the woke mob was that he's a white guy talking about southern food.
And his show is still running. That's a win.

I thought the first two seasons were outstanding. The one on Shreveport, especially the Asian guy segment, was awesome television. Beaumont and New Orleans were damn good as well. It seems like the show lost its way after covid. Or maybe just ran its course? I still watch it, but the earlier shows were better.

^^^ 60 percent of the Dublin Georgia episode is an interview with 2 ladies working at a diner who used to do meth in a city park. Seems as if the show has gotten lazy.

I enjoyed the SEC Network when it first started. Had lots of good talent. Everything about it seems second rate now. SEC needs to unhitch it's wagon from ESPN in a lot of ways.
More than anything it needs to have it's HQ moved to a state that actually HAS AN SEC TEAM. They seem out of touch because they are.

That voice is terrible.
I watched the first couple of seasons and thought the content was pretty interesting, but it is a bit formulaic and like most lefties he loves to wallow in the pit of self-loathing and injustices of generations past.
That said, I don't hate it.

I'm fine with Alyssa Lang, Matt Stinchcomb, and Ben Watson.
I'm not going to be too critical of the network unless they start to get political or start to pander to the tranny men competing against women.

Some of the music is good but not good enough to pull me in.

Well, it sounds an accurate portrayal.
