Tennessee terrorized Texas A&M with clutch two-out hitting en route to a 6-5 win that clinched the 2024 Men’s College World Series national championship on Monday night at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

This is the first baseball national title for the Volunteers, who also became the first national 1-seed to win the MCWS since Miami of Florida did it in 1999.

The Vols did so by breaking open a tight game with a three-run seventh inning to surge ahead, 6-1, with all damage coming after two outs had been recorded. Then they held on as the Aggies fought valiantly to come back, scoring four times over the final two innings.
