There's one anonymous SEC coach who 's throwing some shade Lane Kiffin and his Ole Miss squad heading into this season...
quote:

"This is a one-sided football team that will have to create turnovers on defense to stay in games against top-level teams," the anonymous coach told Athlon Sports.

“(New defensive coordinator Pete) Golding is going to create a good defense eventually. But not this year,” the coach added.

“He’s gonna learn there’s no balance with Lane. It’s not like Tuscaloosa. You’re going to be stressed to keep up with short scoring drives and quick changes of possession.”

Anonymous means nothing. Don't hide by being unnamed or by standing behind a screen name. Tell us what you think and stand behind it.

Will Golding be able to stay sober enough to coach the defense?

At least there were no egregious spelling or grammar mistakes with this article. Definitely a step up for a Larry article.

I have never understood folks fascination with Lane. His brand of ball is entertaining but it doesn’t win championships. He is spurrier at a lesser program.

you self-owned yourself there chief. it is a business of entertainment.

But at a lesser program he is winning about all you could expect anyone to win. That is the fascination, you just don't show up at Ole Miss and finish with 8 wins or more two years in a row. This alone should get you should get a statue.

Of course. Kiffin has been destroying him mentally.

Kiffin is all up in Jimbo’s dome. Probably because Lane has been much more successful at Ole Miss than he has in College Station.

Yep, Kiffin is a clown of a head coach.

Watching him go for it on 4th down on his side of the field in the first half will never get old.

Perfect fit for Ole Miss.

"Watching him go for it on 4th down on his side of the field in the first half will never get old."

More and more teams are doing this at the collegiate and pro levels. Mathematically it sometimes makes sense to "gamble" and go for it on 4th in areas of the field where in the past it would have been unheard of.
