All we know of gunner is his play versus two playoff teams, one that went to the finals. Hard to tell in early action much.

He is fast to run for a slow man.

I get that it’s a difficult sampling but those are also exactly the type of teams UGA needs good QB play to beat.

I agree with others saying that his release is an issue, and he’s not really a running threat. He’s a willing runner, but no one will be scared of that part of his game.

And before anyone fires back that "If he was so good, why didn't he beat out Beck?"

I heard that Beck had a major problem with adjusting to Bobo's offense in that Beck is more a traditional drop-back passer and couldn't adapt to a play-action offense where he had to run the ball on options. Maybe Bobo and the HC could have made adjustments. Maybe I'm wrong.

By the way. I have been here for years as AlaCowboy but had to change my name with my new computer.

I also never knew playing quarterback made your brain hurt.

Finally, I understand why Reggie Ball threw the ball over the hedges on 4th down.

Gunner had some good throws in the SECCG and playoff game, but he just looked a step slow. He was a great runner in HS but guess you have to consider it was AA football. Still we only had one full game to really watch him.

I watched a lot of Philo’s and Vandergriff’s games. A lot of their numbers came against completely overmatched teams with PACS still throwing bombs up by 40 to blatantly pad stats to the point that PACS has trouble scheduling non-region games.

They are talented, but those numbers are inflated.

Coach Vandergriff has moved on and Jon Richt is now the head coach.
