I like the spring game, but I just wish the grass wasn't always so ugly. And the stadium also needs a good pressure washing. It really is starting to look rough. And Hairy needs some actual mascot legs and mascot feet instead of being a human with Nikes on from the waist down. If Hairy can't get an upgrade, they should just say frick it and bring back Fluffie.

Run the spring game as a workout. Show the OL pushing the sleds, the DL rushing while the OL blocks, the RBs running routes and catching passes, and the DBs defending. No tackles, no cut blocks. Just everybody show their athleticism.
Then set up tables and for $10 bucks every player hand out autographed photos with a meet and greet the fans. Players split the money equally.
Everyone gets in with 10 cans of food for the local Food Bank or a $10 donation.

I saw Brooks Austin on Finebaum today (previously recorded) saying the death of spring games will be because the AD loses millions on Spring Games, and when the rev-share model goes into effect in 2026, that fricks them in what they can pay athletes. So some are perhaps shutting down now under the guise of "scouting our players for the portal".

They got rid of signing day, and that was more fun than spring games are.

That makes sense. It sucks but it makes sense.

I saw this too and thought it was a pretty dopey take on Austin's part. GDay is done with a skeleton crew working. Couldn't cost that damn much.

How much do you think it costs to put on a Spring Game at Sanford Stadium and how much direct revenue do you think it brings in?
I don't know the answer, I'm just asking what you think those numbers are so I can form an opinion on how "dopey" Austin's opinion is.

He has been having a lot of bad takes recently. Needs to lay low until football is back. He is trying to be a hot take merchant/Josh Pate clone
Which I get but he needs to dial it back some

I find all of Josh Pate's takes to be very vanilla, not hot.

That's why I put the slash
Probably should have chosen "or" but no time to second guess

I always thought the spring game was boring but it has grown as a bigger tradition so it stays.
