Good one. I've eaten me some KEBA lately, but it's just not the same.

Side note, Achim opened a new place called "Freshtopia" in the Ansonborough development on Gaines School road a couple years ago and it closed within a month. Employees came to work one day and found a note saying they were closed permanently. Lost a lot of respect for him on that one.

If all the 5 star voters here put in $2k we could likely buy the brand.

Mexicali. Steverinos. Barberitos - burritos as big as your head.

Dude I’d forgotten about achims!

Also what was that hibachi joint out at the end of Baxter?

Welp, another goes down. Copper Creek is closing it’s doors on Saturday. Citing too much competition in the local the craft beer scene. Sucks. Beer wasn’t amazing, but it was local.

On the flipside Akademia Brewing recently opened off of Atlanta Hwy. Location isn’t great, but they did a great job with the space and the beer and food is legit.

Old Musicians Warehouse space. Behind the Racetrack next to the Mall (beside what used to be Best Buy).
Strange location. Everything else is great.

All they had to do was clean the place up so it doesn't smell like vomit, and start serving good food.

But they didn't want to do that.

The beer was consistently atrocious, it was only a matter of time. The place also couldn't decide if they wanted to be a undergrad hole in the wall or a respectable dining establishment and the bathrooms usually paid the price.

Long ago, there was a divey place on Baxter, across the street from and a short walk up from Russell Hall. I think it's where there is now either the Dominoes or Pizza Hut. Kind of hard to recall exactly...

It was mostly subs and stuff of that sort but about the only thing I remember is that the popular item was enormous cheese nachos, which they would cover with an ungodly amount of sliced jalapenos.

You would be in pain for days afterward.

Anyone have any clue what that place was called? This was early 80's. It was pretty close to a Ringers coin laundry, if I recall.

Loco's? That was definitely a dive.

This was before Locos existed...place was probably there from who-knows-when until about 1985.

Just can't recall much of anything about it except it was kind of dark, cheap, and easy walking distance to Russell and Brumby.
