Let me try harder.

He is a troll and not even a very good one. Probably due to a history of being conquered repeatedly.

Agree 100%. Beck has a lot of potential and when he completes passes, they are nice completions. It is nothing for him to rip off a 15 or 20 yard pass. The problem is his decision making.

First, you just compared him to one of the best QBs to play at UGA, who figured out his limitations and decisions and has had a great NFL career.

Just making sure I'm reading this correctly, you're comparing Matt Stafford's true freshman, brand new to the college level 2006 season to Carson Beck's 5th year. Stafford finished with 7 TDs and 13 INTs in 06. That is just too big of a stretch in logic to take seriously when Beck isn't coming back for 2007 & 2008.

I pray to God he gets it together, and it seems improbable that he doesn't. But if he goes & throws 3 picks again then he needs to sit on the bench for a bit

8 pics in the last 3 games. If he throws 1, bench.

Stockton nor Puglisi will be any better.

People keep saying this,

But had there been a better option on the bench Kirby would have done it when he threw 3 picks against Bama or Texas. He's answering your question for you. There is nobody better behind Carson.

And benching him would only hurt team morale.

Yep, it was a good comeback but Beck's 5 turnovers culminating in a final game losing interception were too much to overcome.
Without Beck's turnovers, we probably win that game by 2 TDs.

Someone posted earlier, UGA hasn't had a QB throw this many picks since Matt Stafford 2006

Carson has thrown 11 picks right now.
Aaron Murray threw 14 in 2011.

Just FWIW

I was referring to the FL game, but yes, you are correct about the Bama game as well

The game ending INT was on the receiver. He ran the wrong route. If he posts up on front of the freshman DB he catches it or at worst the ball gets knocked out. This has been pointed out by several experts, not just me.

Kids dB coach smartly told him to keep his back to the end line instead of turning and running.

Which is the read for the receiver to stop at the pylon and post up in front of him. Where the ball was thrown.

There's no good reason to take big risks on early downs.

Unless you were being coached to take more shots downfield and wanting to improve on your explosive play potential which is what everyone wanted after last year….including Beck. He has the experience to know where to go with it and the arm strength to deliver it…but maybe he’s missing the receivers and/or timing to drop it in a bucket 40 yds down field.

Or maybe he doesn’t have time to let long routes develop. Hell, I don’t know.

I think we’re starting to see that checking down and converting 1st downs isn’t glamorous…but a good way to win at football.
