either Schlossnagel or Vitello but the melts would be epic
“ why that backstabbin’ m’fer”
“ let’s march on his house”

It would be similar to when Lane Kiffen dumped 10RC for USC….only better

To be fair, the fact that nobody is fully convinced it is anybody specific is a testament that we finally have an AD leading proper head coaching searches.

The amount of leaks that have permeated from this athletic department over the last 15 years have become nauseating.

At this point, like most others, I haven’t the slightest clue who Texas will hire, but have the utmost faith that CDC will find a great next head coach regardless

Agreed. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying the nervous and deflated aggie posts today, however.

Can you imagine what they’re going to do to ole Trev if this happens? He’d wish he was back in Nebraska.

I agree. I don't think it's either coach. Assuming Tenn. or A&M matches Texas' offer, why would they leave a team that has done so well the last couple of years while Texas has been shi**ing the bed?

I think there's a good chance he already wishes that lol.

I truly don't know what CDC is going to do.. I literally have no clue.. but I do believe he has his guy and I do believe that I will like whoever he has targeted.

But to answer your question..
1) Working for CDC > Working for Trev Alberts
2) Living in Austin > Living in College Station

If Schloss believes either one of those are true, then that is really good reason to leave. The money would be the same at either school. You can likely build the same facilities at either school. It comes down to his personal preferences.. How does he want to spending his last 5-10-15-20 years coaching? And then.. where does he want to retire? Only he knows the answers to those questions..

All that being said.. there is A LOT of smoke about Schloss from both sides..
but that doesn't make it true, or a done deal.. but it does make it possible.. but I also can also twist it to mean about 15 other things.. Perhaps it is Vitello and he wanted it released because all of the smoke is on A&M and Schloss.. and he knew it would add extra pressure..

But here is what I do know..
CDC did not fire Pierce today to steal the spotlight of A&M. If he was going to do that, he would have fired Pierce sometime before today.. maybe yesterday.. maybe a week ago.. but not today.

Why do I know this?
Because the CWS could have ended yesterday..

I wish it were Schloss only because of the melt from Aggies on SEC Rant, which will in turn drive everyone else to jump on the band waggon in ragging on the Aggies. It will be glorious!

I honestly can't even imagine how amazing the melt would be.. just the thought of it has been amazing this past week.. and today is just a tip of the iceberg..

1. Fire Pierce
2. A&M loses
3. Schloss moves to Austin

I need this in my life this summer.

It will be the melt of a lifetime. I honestly don't think anything could surpass the level of melting if Schloss wins and goes to Texas. Probably the only scenario would be if A&M were to win the FBS championship and the coach were to bolt to Texas. However, we will never live long enough to witness that.

I don't follow anything A&M does, but if what they claim is true and Schloss helped design their new baseball stadium it is doubtful he leaves.

Nobody I know (including a couple with somewhat inside connections, more football related to be fair) really knows who it will be, just speculation like the rest of us.

Something we can agree on. Not if you listen to the Aggies though they're convinced this is all part of the master plan as if we could foresee the future lol. They all have battered wives syndrome.
Regardless of what happens with their coach, if they lose tonight they're going to blame us and that makes me smile like... A lot

The rumblings from some of my Aggy friends last night was along the lines of "he's never leaving College Station, not with this level of talent" to this morning of "If he leaves, we need to fire Trev Alberts". Schloss' ties with CDC are enough to make them all nervous over the next few days/weeks.

The melts and the hypocrisy have been quite the entertainment. I'm looking forward to the future going into the SEC.
