Texas and Tech and Baylor...

Tech AD says "we're in. It takes two to play." in response to request that Tech play A&M again in football.
As has been documented, when A&M decided to join the SEC, Texas and Tech and Baylor promised never to play A&M again. We left the state, as far as they were concerned.
Now, both Texas and Tech have been publicly begging to play A&M. And Baylor would, if they thought they had a chance of scheduling as to a home and home.
I have nothing new here. I just wanted to revel in the obsequent, defeated admission of not just the horns, but also of Tech.

I couldn't care less about playing any of them again. I actually kind of like Baylor back in the day. They were such jerks when we left, let them sit there and wish they had it as good as we do now.
Do any of you listen to Mark Packer on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM? I like to listen during the drive home from work but he's always harping on how A&M and Texas should be playing and how we should all get over what happened. I sure hope it doesn't happen any time soon. Let them sit over there in Austin and wish they had an SEC school on their schedule every year.

we may never play texas ever again during the regular season. if/when we play texas during the regular season, it wont be for another tens years and maybe not until the 2030s
i hope tech lets that sink in and gives them a great picture of where things stand with us ever scheduling them again

Oh my God!!! He spoke!!!!
But agreed. Best thing about leaving the Big12 was not having to go to places such as Lubbock, Ames, Manhattan, and Stillwater.

Baylor only sold like 800 tickets from their allotment the last time they came to College Station and that was with Heisman candidate RG3 and a top 20 ranking. They would be lucky to get a 2 for 1 from A&M.

i also doubt we would ever seriously schedule a home and home with tech. best they could ever do would be a single game in dallas or houston

No way we ever schedule a home and home with either Tech or Baylor.
I have heard rumblings of a game against Tech at JW when we let the Arkansas contract expire and we go home and home with them. I guess I’d be ok with it for one game, but I don’t want an annual game with Tech.
There is a reason why we never scheduled TCU or Cougar High after the SWC imploded.
However, I don’t have a problem doing random 1 game deals or 3-1 deals against Rice, SMU, La Tech, or UTEP.
Just no games with Tech, Baylor, TCU or the Coogs.

I have zero desire to play them. Same as ISU, OSU, Boise, Wyoming, Kansas, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, or Miami (OH).

frick playing in Shreveport. I don't mind playing SMU or Rice because we get to play them in Dallas and Houston. But El Paso or Shreveport? Hard pass.

i am very much down with playing a rotating schedule of old SWC schools that are not in power conferences instead of scheduling schools like northwestern state

Except Cougar High. frick their fans. They have the biggest Napoleon complex of any fanbases in the state. They think they are as good and big as A&M and Texas and talk shite like an LSU fan. Their delusion knows no bounds.

After 40 years I still have vivid memories of "Go to Hell, Aggies!" being shouted by the entire population of Lubbock, from children to grandmas. And the eATMe T-shirts were a nice touch. I'll enjoy watching Jimbo destroy them from my couch, but I won't go near Lubbock.

I know it’s never gonna happen but I’d kind of like a game at Texas State. Their stadium holds 30k so they’d give us a ton of seats and it would be a nice excuse to go float the river.
