Thought it was weird we initially dropped out even after a win, sounds like they corrected it. But really aren’t too worried about what we are ranked right now.

Winning takes care of everything, even at 10-2 we would still probably make the playoff so this team has plenty to play for right now.

10-2 and we should be a lock for the playoffs.

Especially since that would only make one conference loss

But come on I might as well buy a lottery ticket

Oh I agree, don’t think it’s likely. Just noting that ranking doesn’t really matter and if we win out or lose just one more, we are in to the CFB playoff anyways.

I’ve never liked pre season rankings, or even early season rankings. I think they should only start to have them after halfway through the season to have good data points.

We would have to have A WHOLE LOT of things go our way in Big 12, ACC, Big 10 & ND along w Vols tripping up to get in at 10-2. Don't get me wrong though... I'm hoping for it also.

No we don't. As long as we don't lose to NMSU, we can lose any one game and get in the playoffs. One SEC loss should put us in the SECCG, right?

You shouldn’t count on that

I'm not counting on anything. I'm trying to enjoy the fun part of this roller coaster while it lasts.

Me, too. It's fun to daydream about, but my heart is guarded.

I don't expect us to make the CFP. I do expect us to not lose more than 2 games for the rest of the season, but my optimism is tempered by my experience as an Aggie fan. If this were Jimbo Fisher's team, I'd be like "no way. Mizzou sucks, and we'll end up 8-4 or 7-5." With Elko at the helm, I'm more comfortable being the optimist.

Have to beat one of LSU/Texas and not slip up against anyone else to make the CFP. Not counting on that.

I'm not counting on us not slipping up elsewhere, but I do think we'll win one or two of the games you mentioned.

It is the not slipping up elsewhere piece I'm worried about. Auburn, specifically.

Yeah, I predicted us to lose to Auburn preseason. However, their offense is so bad and our defense is really good at not giving up points, so I'm a little less worried about that one, despite it being the game before hate week.

SCar, on the other hand? Watch out.

My hope is that Elko is a better coach than Jimbo in the sense that he won’t let us look past an Auburn and we can avoid the slip up.

How many years have we prayed for a coach that won’t lose the games he shouldn’t lose?
