Is this just talking about recruiting? I would find it hard to believe that Georgia could keep their roster intact with a Collective ranked outside of the Top 15 given how aggressively other schools target the rosters of top programs.

Over the past three years, the college sports landscape has been altered. Donor-driven NIL collectives will make up 80% of all NIL dollars spent in college football this season. These organizations have become imperative to fielding a top roster in both football and basketball,

What makes a top NIL collective?

My questions stands. It seems unlikely the Georgia could sign a number 1 class and retain so much of its roster with a mediocre collective.

True. This year UGA transferred in 3 4-star, 6 3-star, transferred out 7 4-stars 18 3-star, and “saved” 1.5 M. It is still possible that UGA might finish 2025 recruit not in top-5 (compare to #1 last year).

Well it's possible that NIL isn't the 100% deciding factor for recruits. College players know this current UGA staff is pumping out NFL players at all positions so UGA probably doesn't have to pay as much as some schools. Same goes for Bama.

Then doesn't explain what criteria they're using at all. Typical On3 clickbait shite. We should start a collective to tell Shannon Terry to frick off.

Sure, but I think it’s a stretch to say that this pitch would be satisfactory to enough players to put together a roster like UGA’s (or Alabama’s, to your point).

I think a more likely scenario is that UGA and Alabama are also spending lots of money, but the bulk of it is directed toward retention of their current players rather than paying recruits, which tends to grab more headlines.

I hope UGA is getting a discount, but doubt it’s that much of one.

To me, this list seems like it more likely reflects the “loudest” collectives, but not necessarily the best.

I see maybe 2 possibly only 3 at most of those schools in the top 10 making the playoffs. Alot of money being spent not to advance their programs

According to Josh Pate or an On3, one of those podcasts, 1-4 are the only programs to spend over $20M on their rosters.

But I've been told Auburn is doing nothing but handing out cash.

I been told by your compadres that UA is slinging out tons of money just to get kids to commit but not sign. If so, I would think with the class, we currently have we would be higher up on the list.
