oviously not since bama and lsu's record is virtually the same against each other, both have a s.e.c. title in that span, both played for the n.c. last year. damn, what could lsu have done if they just recruited as well as bama? I guess we've just been really well coached!

LSU record against the rest of the league hasn't been comparable. LSU went 3-5 in 08 while Bama went 8-0.
LSU did manage to go 8-0 last year though have a chance at 7-1 thus coming year.
After this yr LSU talent level takes a huge fall because most of the talent was in the 09 and 10 class.
There yr will be LSUs best shot for a while. Bama loses a lot after this yr too, but Bama recruited lights out in the 11 and 2012.
LSU recruiting has slipped the last couple of classes.

Everyone sees it. LSU hasn't had the same national pull it had a few yrs ago and hasn't been in on any of the highly rated TX guys like in yrs past. No elite OOS guys like Peterson, Montgomery, etc.
When LA is not as strong LSU recruiting hasnt been as strong. LSU used to Battle UT and OU for the top TX players, but without Lyles LSU recruiting had seemed to slip.

Yeah just becuase our LA guys dont get the national hype that other states get I love that people think LSU has just signed scrubs these last couple of classes.
If you think LSU talent level is just going to fall off the map your dumber than we thought.

I'm sure miles signed some solid players, but nothin like the 2010,or 2009 class. Most Tiger fans will agree that the LSU presence in TX hasn't been what it was a few yrs ago.
Miles upgraded his coaching staff, but the recruiting has taken a step back. Chavis was a great get, but he doesn't recruit. Larry Porter was lights out and his loss was a huge one. Frank Wilson hasn't delivered like porter did.
Besides Wilson, what other coach on LSU staff has a reputation for being a good recruiter? Haley?

You following me around, and harassing me for everything, is borderline pathetic.

Who is "everyone"?
They got to the National Championship with horrible quarterbacks. They'll be in the National Championsip hunt again this season. They'll out around 4 players in the 1st round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
I don't see this drop-off in LSU's recruiting that you keep saying.

There really isn't much difference between a #1 class and a #3 or 4 class. The talent level is probably about the same among all the teams that consistently bring in top 5 classes

Most of their talented players are from their 2009 and 2010 class. 2011 class was decent not close to the previous two. 2012 was abysmal and they wiffed on Keil, Collins and didn't recruit any position well except LB. They missed on a few highly rated LA guys and they don't have the OOS pull without Porter. The trouble with Lyles has slowed their TX recruiting.
They will lose 4 to 5. 1st rders and haven't recruited well enough to overcome that type of loss.

There is a thread started by a gator listing position ranking for 2012 class LSU is not mentioned one time by any poster for any position.
I did think LSU had a good Lb class even though they lost Davis to UT at the last min. The rest of the class on paper looks like one of Arkys or States classes.
LSU should have capitalized on the TX talent while UT has been down the last few yrs.

Beckham
Hilliard

Collins
Landry
Mettenberger
Rasco
J. Collins
all already showing flashes of being big players through their frosh yr and Spring. Keep your ignorant arse quiet.

Ask UT how they're doing w/ the no. 1 DE in TX or the no. 1 player in their state for '14. Not to mention, at the same point in their respective years, neither Peterson nor Montgomery were committed anywhere
quote:well that seals it, if the SECR says so. LSU's LB corps is up there w/ anyone's sans maybe bama's. And LSU will sign one of the strongest DL and DB classes in the nation this yr. Leslie may be the no. 1 JUCO WR in the nation to go w/ Diarse
There is a thread started by a gator listing position ranking for 2012 class LSU is not mentioned one time by any poster for any position.
LSU leads for the no. 2, no. 5, and no. 6 WDE's nationally to go w/ no. 19 Patterson who's already committed.

Alabama has recruited way better than LSU. I dont see how that idiot Miles has beaten Saban 2 times in the last 2 years when you consider how much more talented Bama's recruits are compared to LSUs.
