6'3 225 and ranked the #24 overall player and the #4 dual threat QB on the 247 composite
Texas A&M was perceived as the leader last summer, but Florida got him on campus several times and landed their QB of the future. Chose Florida over USCw, TAMU, Clemson, and Baylor.
A huge centerpiece for Napier's 2024 class.

I refuse to get into 2024 recruit commitments this early.
That said, getting someone like Lagway on board now, would probably be a boon for the class going into the new year.

Same for me, usually, but it's different when it's a quarterback.
Particularly different when its a 5 star quarterback that is good enough to have his commitment aired live on ESPN while he's still a high school junior.

yeah, lagway's intention is to get it out of the way now, and recruit the players he's wanting to play with in 2024. not to mention, focus on his senior season. hope the CBs remain true. :fingerscrossed:

Local kid I’ve watched play for a while. He’s the new prototype. Still growing and has all the tools. Needs to work on footwork, but nice touch on the deep ball & strong arm. Can make plays in and out of the pocket. Great family & a lot of kids transferred in to play with him. If the Gators get him, they’ll be landing a stud.
Personally was really hoping he ended up in Austin, but that’s wishful thinking on having him & Manning.

Texas recruiting folks are saying likely Florida and "getting it out of the way" is not the real outcome per folks in and around his community. They seem to think he will talk to other groups all the way through signing day.
That could be wishful thinking. A kid of his talent will be hit up constantly no matter who he signs with.

yeah, that's pretty much par for the course for most recruits. there were alot of 2023 recruits that continued to take visits throughout the year while being committed.

I think as a recruit you gotta be flexibile up until pen is put to paper. You don’t want to just stop talking to schools and then the one you chose implodes and the whole staff is fired, the coach moves on, etc. I feel like QBs usually stick unless there’s some other factors though.

when DJ visited florida earlier this year, he had a comment about Desmond Ricks...

i wouldn't be surprised if DJ and Rashada get the same Gatorade deal AR got.

I've heard Gatorade is going to slow down on the NIL deals, haven't gotten the ROI they were hoping for on the AR deal
But I'm all for our athletes getting as many deals as possible, of course

He's gonna be a first rd pick tho. I feel like that has to have some value. They get their logo on his shorts at the combine or something idk. I thought we would he seeing guys doing commercials or some kind of ads for local restaurants, car dealerships etc but I've yet see any of that and i live in Gainesville.
Either way getting Lagway would kick off this class right. We get Lagway and i expect a bunch of others will flood in the following months.
I think it could help a lot with Jerrick Gibson. Gainesville kid and top RB in the country at IMG.

Good on him for likely steering clear of A&M and that nonsense for Florida. Everyone can joke about Florida and Napier but I do think he’d turn things around, solidly.

Being under Riley at SC is enticing as hell as an offensive player, let alone a quarterback, but with him, you never know. I feel he’s among the next college coaches that’ll try and explore the NFL. Lagway would also be competing with Nelson, while he’d be competing with Rashada at Florida. That’s a tough one but seems he’s headed to Gainesville

This is what everyone says now when a recruit goes elsewhere and it's almost always some highly exaggerated number. If you believe some of these things you have multiples on some rosters getting a million plus per year and I seriously doubt that.
