2026 New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr defensive lineman Richard Anderson announced his commitment to LSU on Friday after the Friday Night Lights camp. Following his sophomore season this past fall, Anderson circled LSU, Florida State and Ole Miss and the frontrunners, he told On3.

When game film came out from Anderson’s 2023 campaign, more offers began rolling in. Since January, Anderson has added verbal scholarships from programs like Oregon, Miami, Arkansas, Southern Cal, TCU and Auburn.

With LSU hiring Bo Davis as the program’s new defensive line coach, a 1-2 combination of Davis and LSU associated head coach and area recruiter Frank Wilson (among others) proved too much for other programs to beat. Wilson is a former Edna Karr assistant coach.
