He is a great hire for A&M. To say otherwise is silly. We were in a similar position (1 year of the Malvetto clown car), when we brought him in. He still had a lot to work with, though. It took 2 years, but he did build a great D. Other than last year, he's been solid, at worst.
Mix LSUs very young D from last year and Chavis' first D in 2009, and that is what you can expect in year one. Bend don't break...most of the time. If your last staff ran a lot of zone, that will help, because he will play a ton of it as base.

When you joined is irrelevant self proclaimed academic genius. You stated 2 years in a previous post. BUSTED! Just like your a-hole fig. Do you really in your heart feel ATM is an academic powerhouse. If so, then you are unlike most ATM grads I've encountered. While ATM is a decent education it's hardly worth boasting about unless you've graduated from the mule and wagon. Lastly, JC is an exceptional coordinator and will be missed but providing the candidates are vetted correctly LSU should be fine.
Coaches are just like the stock market. Previous results are no indication of future earnings. Good luck with JC and I wish him the best. ATM and JC will need it because our talent will still beat yours.

Never said TAMU was superior to anyone else but glad you are figuring that out. I am calling you out for saying stupid shite. I said we (TAMU) have been in the SEC for 2 years, nothing about me being in LC. Just fricking relax. I think you guys will be fine too, you have way more defensive talent in LA than we do in Texas. I think a lot of it is offensive scheme. We run a lot of spread schemes and no one here knows how to man up and hit somebody. Its what has been killing us for years.
