In the 2025 edition of the prestigious “Best Colleges in the U.S.,” Journal editors, along with College Pulse/Statista, place Texas A&M at No. 1 in the Lone Star State, No. 11 among the nation’s public institutions, and No. 28 overall.

Weighed heavily (70%) is a measure on student outcomes, which includes graduates’ salaries, years to pay off costs, and graduation rate impact. While many rankings focus on school size or reputation among college administrators, this ranking zeroes in on the success of schools’ graduates, especially in terms of college being a good investment.

A&M is #1 because it is the SEC's most rainbow-friendly place.

And where’s TAMU’s engineering school ranked higher than Texas’s?

Is "the best engineering school" one of those aggy fairytales that somehow becomes true the more it's told?

Edit- Not even ranked directly behind us at #2. Top 5:
Rice
University of Texas
Houston
Texas Tech

UTrans did not even make the top 30

Texas A&M finds itself in elite company on the list, which is topped by Princeton University; eight of the top 10 universities are private schools, including Stanford, Yale, MIT and Harvard. The only other Texas university in the Top 30 is Rice University, at No. 29 nationally.

This bizarre ranking also has Calremont McKenna over MIT and Davidson College over the University of Pennsylvania. If you take this WSJ ranking seriously, I have some oceanfront property in College Station that I think would interest you.

They know TAMU isn’t a better school than Rice, Vanderbilt, and Texas.

But it’s good trolling fodder for the rant.

Congrats on adding all of the aTm campuses together and stating them as Texas aTm College Station #’s

It’s sad, everyone knows aTm did this several years ago to boost their total research #’s

Makes sense though, since Texas has 60 Top 10 Programs, and aTm has 11
