Simple and short answer?
Instead of just being who and what they are, they are obsessed with finding a way to overshadow and surpass their big bro...much like LSU did to the U of L.
They don't realize that doing what LSU did is the exception, not the norm...not to mention surpassing the University of Texas isn't going to happen even if they keep trying for another 100 years.
To wrap it up neatly, they hate us more than they love themselves.

I would suggest that this victim mentality is one of your issues.
You have just as much money as we do stop being a victim and do something about it

If you can’t identify the problem you can’t correct it; and, If you are not the problem, there is no solution. A&M doesn’t believe they are the problem. They believe they’re victims of a Texas Longhorn conspiracy. They tilt at windmills rather than take a hard look in the mirror. Thus there is never a solution. 85 years later….

They are overly focused on Texas and they probably do have a bunch of meddlesome boosters, just like Texas or any other big program does.
But those things can be overcome by good coaching.
They're just so god damn weird and cultish, and that makes it difficult to bring great coaches there. Do you think Elko likes having to participate in all the weird shite they do? Can you imagine Saban singing "saw Varsity's horns off" at a random preseason banquet? Hell no. Too many distractions. Schlossnagle hated it there and couldn't get out fast enough.
They demand a coach who "gets them" and celebrates being an Aggie above all. Second priority is championships. A guy who would embrace them and also be good enough to win a title may exist. I could see Dabo yucking it up there and winning. But he might be the only one.

whatever dude. the whole SWC conference knows what i am talking about. you dont find it odd that every time a school got the better of texas, the NCAA came sniffing around?

The serious answer to this question is that A&M has always, going back 50 years, struggled to put together a consistent passing game.
bullshite.

Sorry but Jackie Sherrill was a scumbag But he did give you your 4-5 years of glory.
Slocum was a great man and coach; yall did good under him too until Mack Brown came to Austin.
Anyway, as soon as yall can kill the victim mentality you might accomplish something. Although you had a 14 year head start in SEC and didn’t.

Believe it or not I'm not an Aggie hater. One of my best friends is a ag grad as is two of my cousins. My Aggie friend just said the other day exactly what I just posted those are words from him not me.
You guys have more power than you think you do

I think the answer to the question probably varies depending on the age of the person answering.
Much like 90% of the LSU fanbase here that believes college football started around 2000. Ags that have never experienced Texas and its antics don’t have a frame of reference.
Just because you have ag cousins doesn’t mean a hill of beans here or lend credence to your thoughts.

Fair enough I was just repeating what he said. You have to choose what to believe yourself

I will admit that I am dumbfounded why A&M cannot find more success on the field. The last coach to leave A&M for another program is Bear Bryant. I do find it comical that Texas thinks they are the big brother when you go back the last 50 years the record is almost even. Still find it funny you guys lost to us under Dennis Franchione years - the same Coach who had us lose 77-0 to OU. So go on - beat your drum

Dunno. Because Texags keeps running off their Quarterbacks maybe?

It’s really perplexing.
A shitload of money spent….with literally nothing to show for it. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
In the meantime…LSU can have a GOAT season with Ed fricken Orgeron. Auburn can win a Natty with Gene fricken Chizik.
Perhaps they are cursed or being punished by God for their ****ry.

Because the Yell Leaders are the stupidest thing in all of sports, so God doesn't want them to win.

poor leadership just like Texas. both texas schools should be ashamed

Because it's hard to win a championship and it doesn't come often.
The ROI on A&M has been poor as well as numerous other programs.
Maybe some of the donors will realize this and invest more wisely.

Yup. Any time you talk to an aggy - baseball, basketball, football, academics - ANYTHING! - they almost always end up talking about Texas. Even watching their games vs whoever, their fans are always doing the hornsdown.
aggy will always be losers because of this thing about Texas.
