He was the first Mt. Cody until Saban chewed him up. The current Mt. Coy learned his lesson.

When Coach Bryant was there. We had a "Midget" (Actually a smaller then average man)
His name was Shorty Price. He would be decked out with Bama pants..Shirt..Hat. He would March up and down the sidelines getting the crowd fired up. Shorty was an Alcoholic and was pretty well "Lit up" by kick off. What a Character!

Indeed, the current little person's father served the Tide at the end of Coach Bryant's era & when Coach Perkins started.
The father was a New Orleans suburban high school friend of Bama consensus All-American Tommy Wilcox, the outdoors man. The family lives in Slidell, where the son had similar duties at Slidell High.
Of course, Coach Stallings son, John Mark, w/Down Syndrome was a hard worker for Bama. He was a favorite of fans & players.

Shorty Price was a very wealthy attorney which probably explains why he was an alcoholic. He use to run for governor and senate all the time. I think it was in his trust that he had to run for office ever so often or he didn't get hismoney.
He was basically a frick up.

Yea I knew him being an Attorney Etc. The way I heard it His Daddy had the Trust and Shorty had to run for Governor or no money. Anyway I remember seeing him at every game before "Big Al" became our official Mascot.
