One of the better coaches available but he just committed career suicide. Surely there were better job offers available, right? Auburn can't have been the only school willing to take a chance Pearl with his shady past...

In reality, he needed a rebuilding job and Auburn is better than a small school for that if you're Bruce Pearl and you think you can rebuild any program. You'll get more attention and more chances at big success than you would at a lesser known school, even if it has a better basketball program.
