I was going to bring up the LSU chant but it's not nearly as pervasive as the others
Yeah I was wondering, as I don’t think I have ever heard a Tiger say that one but I’ve heard of it.
Have you ever heard it said in LSU circles? Curious especially if the younger Tiger fans are even aware of it. Boudin is kind of making it around the region like crawfish has. I see it at our baseball games all the time but not in The Grove.

Cheerleaders do it before the game after the Tiger walk and before the band comes down victory hill. Hear it almost every game.

It's not said a lot, no. It's more of an older generation chant. The cheerleaders do it pregame a little bit

Well, if it came from the 1920s it is definitely racist.

It's from the old Choctaw, and it can roughly be translated as "effeminates who suck at sports".

Coming from a fan base that prides themselves on their “Jazz fingers” hog call. Seriously Arkansas is the worst fan base of them all. Even our new members know that. Nothing but trolling to every fan base in the SEC. Can’t wait to kick your arse in Oxford this year. You know it’s coming.

A. Not trolling. You really suck at literally everything.
B. Ole Miss is the one team we've never had to be scared of. Even in our darkest years, we've managed to have a winning record against you clowns. And that's just football. We stay light years ahead of you in baseball and basketball.

You're in luck as we have a living legend here. Our very own DownSouthJukin first started the chant at the Ole Miss/Auburn game in 2000.
Ah yes... Tuberville's first trip back to Vaught-Hemingway.
After having the original, witty, and very meaningless chant of "WAR EAGLE" screamed in my ear all day by a cultish, pudgy red-haired lady in a blue jean jacket covered in Auburn flair and who was seated just behind my right shoulder, the chant just popped in my head, and out it came.
It was a grand day for all.

roll tide doesn't mean anything, nor does boomer sooner, gig 'em, war eagle, rock chalk or any other weird catch phrases college fanbases have adopted over the course of history. They may have origins in history, but they don't actually have a meaning outside of the fanbases that say them
Actually "Boomer Sooner" does mean something, it is a facet of Oklahoma history. When Oklahoma territory was opened up there were two types of settlers, Boomers and Sooners, Boomers came over when the 1889 land rush happened where there were cannons fired off for the settlers rushed in to claim their land. The sooners went in early (IE: Land Thieves). Side note, my great grandmother was a young girl on one of the wagons that crossed in the '89 land rush, and had some fairly vivid memories of the event.

Right, there is such a thing as a boomer and such a thing as a sooner, but the phrase "boomer sooner" doesn't actually have a meaning itself. Most of the catch phrases college teams around the country use have some basis in historical signifance, but they're essentially meaningless outside the context of the college teams that use them.

Yeah. So, a boomer is something, and a sooner is something else, but boomer sooner makes no sense.

I’ll take HT over SkoRebs any day

Actually it does, it encompasses all of the states history, it originated as a state pride thing. All of the OU traditions revolve around it. The Sooner Schooner, the cannons blasting at kickoffs and scores (which leads to the schooner)... most just don't care to pay attention.

Honestly, I don't think anyone really knows what it means. Some say it means "A Whale's Vagina"

That's like saying "hot boudin, cold couche-couche, c'mon tigers poosh poosh poosh" has an actual meaning because it encompasses Louisiana's food culture. It's still gibberish

I think you're completely missing the point here. Rock Chalk has no meaning either, but it does come from the transposition of "chalk rock", which is an actual type of limestone that is found where the University of Kansas is located. That doesn't mean that chant would make sense to anyone who doesn't follow college sports or a phrase that would be applicable to anything but college sports.
