Pre NIL day's I kind of get it. Post NIL days, I think the game is changed.
If I can buy a jersey and my favorite player gets a cut of it, I think it makes a difference.
Full disclosure: I own plenty of SC gear, but the only jerseys I own are cycling jerseys that I wear when I'm riding MTB's...

Grown men at UGA games seem to have an extreme obsession with jerseys. More than any other SEC fanbase I've seen by far.

1) It is LSU by far from what I've seen, followed by Florida.
2) the most famous picture of a SEC fan is a Tennessee fan wearing a jersey.
