I’ve visited College Station a few times.

Hands down the best brisket is from Fargo’s on S Texas in Bryan. It’s a real hole in the wall dump, so you know it’s legit.

They also have collard greens because for some reason they aren’t a thing in Texas. Because all them fools will suck a golf ball through a garden hose for creamed corn.

Not open any more. They moved a couple of times and as they moved locations and got bigger, the quality went down. Didn’t have enough business coming in so they shut down a month or two ago.

If you thought they had good brisket, go to 1775 pit bbq in south college station. Open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It’s fantastic and nothing else in the area comes close.

Why is there always an a-hole who thinks he’s witty (and probably his own biggest fan), needing to pollute a legitimately-asked question/post?

Freaking just move on.

If you want some real entertainment. Go walk around campus making sure to take short cuts walking on the grass...

Another “I read this once on the Internet, but I actually have zero idea what I’m talking about” urban legend.

Literally the only area where visitors are asked to stay off the grass is the lawn surrounding the Memorial Student Center, because … well … it’s a memorial.

Feel free to trudge across any other blade of grass on the very large campus.

My kid is a sophomore at A&M. So, I have spent a decent amount of time down there the last few years.

George Bush presidential library on campus is worth going to

Corps of Cadets museum on campus is also worth a look

On game day get to campus several hours before the game. Usually lots going on. There are TVs showing games at the alumni center and at the memorial student center. Lots of tailgates that will welcome you if you want to join them. Aggies are friendly and treat visiting fans well.

The Memorial Student Center or the Alumni center are good places to cool down/take a break if its hot outside or raining.

Texags website has a free tailgate usually at their office right across from campus. I've never been before but always have seen people over there.

You could also hang out at the Northgate bar area before the game. Lots of people will be doing that. The Dixie Chicken has good burgers and cheese fries if you want to grab a bite before the game.

There is parking garage in Northgate called Northgate Parking Garage that is a good place to park on gameday if you don't already have parking figured out. Also, several of the churches in Northgate sell parking spots in their parking lots on gameday. Northgate area is right across the street from campus and you can walk across campus to the stadium.

Other parking options are park at the shopping mall and take a shuttle from there or downtown Bryan has a shuttle bus option to the game. You will gave to do some research on these options as I don't know much about them. If you get to spend time at bars before or after the game, parking in Northgate area is your best bet.

Bars- Dixie Chicken, Duddley's Draw, Backyard, Corner Bar, plus numerous other bars in Northgate. The Dixie Chicken is where my friends and I hang out when we are all in town for the Florida games.

Food- Steak/Nicer meal- The Republic

BBQ-1775 or Cooper's

Burgers- Dixie Chicken if you are in Northgate or Koppe Bridge are local places. Numerous chain type places if you prefer.

Chicken Strips- Layne's is a local place similar to Raising Canes. Its been there since the 1990s.

Wings- Wings N More is a local place around since the 1990s. Or chain options.

Breakfast/Brunch- The Village Cafe in downtown Bryan or Wellborn Cafe

Pizza buffet or delivery- Double Daves Pizza- They are famous for pepperoni pizza rolls. That's what I'd order from there with a side if marinara and ranch for dipping.

Pizza delivery- Gumby's Pizza- Again order the pepperoni pizza rolls and marinara and ranch. I think I prefer their pizza rolls.

Momaka- for smoothies, smoothie bowls, etc if you have a lady with you.

ETA- had to ask my kid the name of another restaurant we've gone to twice. Its called Ronin and is in Bryan. This is another place that would be girlfriend/wife approved if you are bringing them with you. It is a local farm to restaurant establishment.

I was just showing off how long I've been going to Texas vs. A&M games.

Those are all old school places that the chains have shut down. Same has happened at UTexas also, but mostly because the property got too expensive.

I agree. The A&M gay jokes are unoriginal and boring at this point.

Age? Anywhere close to college then just go to Northgate.

Fast casual - Fuego
Higher end - Christopher's or The Republic
Bar Food - Koppe Bridge (assuming you leave NG. The Dixie Chicken is the "famous" bar)

Lots of places…but the best bet is head to the campus and enjoy the friendly Aggie hospitality and tailgating…you’ll be invited to share plenty of food and drink, make new friends. Welcome.
