And they made Tennessee suck worse than they already did which is bad considering their "dark color" is daisy orange.

Negative, I had an image in my mind the REC was a bunch of overweight Alabama fans in suits smoking cigars in a dark back room conspiring for world domination.
Spot on.
But by back room, we mean behind that curtain wall at IHOP

I immediately thought of that scene when I read the thread title.

They're responsible for 2012 rematch, scheduling Kentucky, distracting Teo, T-town menswear, providing ca$h benefits to recruits, planting Mike Hamilton as Manchurian candidate, etc
Also,
- controlling the SEC commish office;
- assigning referrees with specific missions within an overall organized plan;
- instructing ref crews for individual games when and whether to flag for "holding;"
- arranging national poll voting patterns;
- working to affect weather for certain games, rain or what not;
- insuring LSU must play Florida all the time, and when Alabama finally has to play the Gators, they are worse than Vanderbilt.
In short.. REC is the most effective alumni support group in the country.

Serious answers only please.
It's a group of Bama Boosters started back in the 40s by the Dobbs family in Memphis, Tennessee designed to help Bama recruit ... originally. The Dobbs were heavy into auto sales at the time, and real estate, and eventually the people that provided airline food for inflight meals if I remember correctly - Dobbs House. I think they are heavy into investments stuff now, Dobbs Management. Along with some medical stuff and maybe some beer and liquor distributorships too, I dunno.
Back in the fifties it was said that, "every new recruit gets a new Chevy coupe."

Much has changed since then. They're now Dodge Chargers.

I was curious too. They actually have a website. This statement is in it.
You can read between the lines if you want.
And when they get drunk they do this shite.

We are an elite group of individuals who will support the University of Alabama Football Program enthusiastically and wholeheartedly in a manner that will showcase our first class organization displaying the pride and tradition of the University of Alabama. We will provide donations to assist with funding football scholarships. We will strive to support our current and former football athletes as well as our football coaching staff in any possible way.

The worst call ever.
Don't think it would have made a difference but you never know.

IHOP? You mean behind that curtained wall in the SEC commish office... and at the NCAA enforcement division?

What was the score at that point?
Posted on 11/14/13 at 11:31 am to Jacknola
Do not forget that the REC secretly runs the the other 13 SEC schools, otherwise why would these other school accept the blatant corruption and bribery by Bama and do nothing about it.
Posted on 11/14/13 at 11:41 am to Patton
I think LSU was down one score or less.
