And you know this how? Maybe the kids IS playing his best basketball and what you have seen is as good as it gets from him.
He's in street clothes with an injury so no I doubt it.

If you are a bubble team that was “first out” last March then one win vs a decent team can give you an extra win to get into dance.
Its also great practice because you play many games in a short time, meaning lots of your deep bench gets real meaningful playing time as team tries manage minutes.
Its a nice trip for the players as you do get some extra time before and after tourney to sightsee.
And some tourneys have some good competition which is helpful for the reg season
