The SEC should be very top-heavy this year. To me there are 4 tiers:

The GOOD
1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Auburn

The DECENT
4. Mississippi State
5. LSU
6. South Carolina

The AVERAGE
7. Texas A&M
8. Florida
9. Missouri

The BAD
10. Arkansas
11. Ole Miss
12. Tennessee
13. Kentucky
14. Vanderbilt

Games played between teams in the same tier will be close.... I think each team is capable of beating a team in the closest tier above them, but not likely capable of beating a team rated any higher.

Translation:

Alabama is likely to only be potentially challenged 3 times in the regular season (@LSU, MSU, and AU). Likewise for Georgia (@ SC, @LSU, AU), and Auburn could be challenged four times (LSU, @ MSU, @ UGA, @ Bama)

I just don't see any teams in those lower two tiers competing with the top tier teams.

But to answer your quesiton, I believe the worst team is a toss-up between five schools, but most likely Vanderbilt.

As in worst team or worst record?

Doesn't matter, Arkansas for both.

I find this to be a remarkably astute analysis.
