Hanging 50 points ranked 3rd. Everybody gushes. Then the red river goes either way maybe they lose that or win. Then okie state block. If they sneak past that game then they aren’t exposed until the post season. Now that your in the sec things change.

they could pour their heart and soul into Dallas each year and then basically go unchallenged. Same deal for Texas too, though we were obviously much less successful even then.
thing is though, OU sucks this year and Texas doesn't. good year for that to be the case.

Maybe. But it’s conceivable that the media would be touting the latest freshman sensation at OU because he threw 2 td and ran for 3 against Rice.

The fact is OU only had to get up for one game a year, against Texas. The rest of the conference games OU had a major talent advantage.
That talent advantage is gone.. forever.

Oklahoma has Auburn level talent. They will have Auburn level success in the SEC.
