Even at his age ... three to six months. He'll still have pain issues in February but around that time the trainers will start adding more resistance and making sure no scars bond to the bone.
Hopefully he didn't tear any soft tissue when the ankle came apart. I did ... took two surgeries to get mine right. It didn't look like his foot turned all the way around backwards so he may have gotten lucky.
