One of my son’s friend started in the fall at UCLA then transferred after the season…went to Arkansas State for the spring and has requested a transfer. Kid was so good in high school and very cool.
Another friend graduated early and is transferring after the spring. Could legitimately, I hope that’s not how it works for him, be at 3 schools looking for a transfer before he’s a sophomore in college.
Eligibility limits have to be set in stone 5 years to play 4 after high school. I guess you could defer that indefinitely until you start the clock.

Have you decided where your kid will bolt to next?

That’s what I don’t understand…how does the school get you off the scholarship? He signed a 4 year 100% scholarship.
If you lose your job, when the Sr scholarship guy finishes I assume they’ll pay top dollar to a transfer to come complete against my son for the spot, you stick it out and work hard to try and win the job back…unless they have some way to yank your free ride.
Guessing they have some way to push you off of it that forces the transfer.

At least you got an early start by decommiting early and going elsewhere before you even got on campus.
Good practice for each of the next four years as you move your son around to the highest bidder.

Kids I’m talking about are chasing a starting job, but I guess it could be analogous to a linebacker shopping for money.

Yeah, no shite, I wonder what the money was that swayed the kid’s commitment for him. He’ll never admit it but will feed us excuses. But the other kids are bad for what they are doing, give me a break……..haha

100+ G’s for little gaston at Florida. He was under 75 at Arkansas iirc.

You have made this abundantly clear for over a year. Chasing playing time and more money.

Or the coaches are forcing these transfers. I don’t really know any ‘23s besides Peyton…the 24’s are just a year in. I couldn’t have been talking about transfers.
I was being presumptive with the ‘playing time’ thing…IDK how transfers get initiated.

But his situation wasn’t about money? Gee, this really surprises me. I thought they they loved our coach and facilities and such, that’s what he preached but money was the final word? And now he’s on here talking about other kids? Wow.

I could be mistaken but I’m pretty sure the scholarship is renewed on an annual basis. How they get away w it mid-year I have no idea.

Write it on their headstone. Apathy is a slow roll, but somehow, NIL is proving to be the exception.

That’s funny. His NIL deal at UF unbelievably low. <10% of the Ark offer.

If I wasn't gonna be in Tallahassee for week 1, I'd be in Gainesville with a "Gaston sucks" sign.
