Damn. I’ve been following The Jerod Lorenzen Project on Facebook, which was sort of an online docu-series chronicling his weight loss journey and attempts to start leading a healthy lifestyle. He was down to 315 from over 500 lbs at his peak (in only one year). I was really pulling for him. Hope he can pull it out, he seemed like a great guy. He was also going around to high schools and middle schools to tell his story and encourage kids to make healthy choices. His bad habits and eating addiction began as a kid when his Mom left him and his Dad. His dad was working all the time to support them, so he would just give Jerod money and tell him to go to the store to get groceries. He was like 13 at the time and said his breakfast was usually powdered donuts, little debbies, and chocolate milk. Lunch was a burger and fries at school, and dinner was 2-3 TV dinners washed down with a 2 Liter of Mountain Dew.

Damn, Pillsbury Throwboy was one of the first non Auburn SEC players that I was a big fan of. I loved watching him when he was tearing it up 2002, I was 11.

I used to always wonder growing up why there weren’t more fat QBs...I mean there’s gotta be some fat dude that can spin it. It’s not like you have to be a triathlete to play the position.

Then I saw Jared play with no. 22 at QB and I was fascinated. Dude was a stud at Kentucky.

I pray he pulls through. He’s a warrior. Please make it through big guy.

That could be the source of some of his current issues.

Losing too much weight too fast can cause heart and liver issues, among other things

The new drug resistant bacteria out there are scary things. Best of wishes to the big guy, we all hope he pulls through.
