If Clemson joins, that will make them the 4th team in the SEC with Tigers as the nickname.

I get that LSU's nickname came from the Louisiana Fighting Tigers soldiers the Civil War due to them being complete badasses. Did the others just decide to get theirs from some generic nickname bucket?

Either way, there are entirely too many Tigers teams already in the SEC and for that, we should deny Clempson's application.

Edit: Mizzou's tiger nickname also stemmed from the Civil War, so I hereby deem them legitimate as well.

LSU and Mizzou's are legit, Auburn and Clempson are just unimaginative posers. Followers. Ultimately they are cucks.

At least we’ll have the team with the real death Valley in the SEC now

No clue about LSU, but MU Tiger naming had its genesis with Civil War era militia reference.

Just so you are aware Auburn adopted the nickname Tigers before LSU did

Agreed. Auburn doesn’t know if they are a Tiger on drugs or a damn Eagle.

No offense, but I think the OPs question was did you adopt the name b/c y’all like cuddly felines, or was there a bigger reason?

No offense - I was responding to Slackaveli ...I wasn't responding to the O.P.

The only fair way to settle this is to lock all four mascots in a cage with no food and the last tiger standing gets the name.

Ok but LSU gets to send Mike VII, the actual Tiger, as our representative.

Harvey Updyke killed Auburns mascot so they had to switch to one of their other 100 back up mascots

You're aware that LSU's mascot weighs 350 lbs and moves like a ...cat?
