Actually, there's only ONE thing that would make Bama the 'king of cfb'... defeat UGA and re-assume the throne.

I'll put this in plain English so that even you can understand it; UGA is the current National Champion. Bama is NOT. They had their chance and couldn't get it done. They could have had a chance last season as well, but didn't even win their division so, no championships, unless you wanna claim the Whatever-it-was Bowl championship over Kansas State.
Now, if they run the table and defeat UGA, then you can boast and call yourself king all day long...and I'll agree with you. Until then, Bama is just in a big, swirling mass with 130+ other schools that are wannabes until they can beat someone and claim the title of champion.

Georgia has indeed had a good 20 months, other than the 17 point arse kicking in the 2021 SEC championship game. That doesn't really have anything to do with what the OP posted.

You got caught paying $180K for an OL over 20 years ago. What do you think RB's/QB's were going for then?

Maybe over the next 5-7 years Kirby will have a .500 record vs the King of CFB.

Where we're disagreeing is, what is important; current success or past success? Are you living in the past or the present? I take nothing away from Bama's past history. They are a storied program. And I can guarantee you that Bama fans right now are going to say the past is the most important, seeing as how they have been ousted from the throne.
In your defense, I will admit that if UGA was in the same shape as Bama right now, looking up at even the champ of their own division, I would be looking for something to throw up to, to make myself feel better.
But at the end of the day, it doesn't change the facts; Bama WAS the king. UGA IS the king.

It actually DOES have something to do with the OP, because not everyone agrees on what makes a program 'king'. Some (Bama fans at the moment) think it's past success. Others, (UGA, LSU, etc.) believe it's current success who is currently champs.
As I told the OP...Bama WAS the king. UGA IS the king.
