I just posted this on the Tiger Rant, but I think most any LSU fan will admit that other than night games, our record at TS isn't terrific...

We are 121-43-6 vs the rest of the SEC in night games(assuming they begin at 6 pm) at Tiger Stadium

21-4 since 2000, which no one can argue have been the golden years of LSU sports

Any LSU fan in his/her right mind will tell you that our day record in Tiger Stadium isn't that hot....at night however, you're talking a different animal!!!!

I suppose the question is the relevance of historical records and what they are relevant for. If it's for a discussion of a programs history then it all should be taken in of course. From 1933, or from late 1800's depending on topic. If it's to show the effect of particular coach on a program then what I posted above is relevant. If it's to discuss a team for 2012 and near future then I would thing the TV viewing time of recruits, say last 6-8 years.

OK, since it's "coach speak," can you find me quotes where Bryant made similar statements regarding other stadiums?

That day game myth has been busted over the past decade. LSU just wins baby, day or night.

Of Course bona fide won't becuse he can't. If he actually read the exact quote it would be obvious to anybody but a complete BAMA homer that he was being serious. There is a reason he wasn't the only coach, media person, or player who has made similar comments over the years.

Coach Bryant was obviously on his 2nd Fifth of G Dickel when he made that statement.

The Bear owned all teams, home and away. But, he was sophisticated in football IQ enough to know how much better his team was vs the rest. And how much harder a team played over their heads, and/or how many points a stadium or environ(night game at LSU) was truly worth...regardless of his era Tide domination of a series.

And selective or not, someone calculate LSU's night marks minus the seasons when LSU had absolutely nothing, and/or the teams were mailing it in, in order to get the coach canned, back when LSU's Ath Dept paid chump change and ran LSU Sports like a total joke.

7-1 at tiger stadium, that's seven wins and one loss. Coach Bryant trolling the LSU fans thirty years after his retirement.

Maybe you missed the less than 60% winning percentage at home against SEC teams for LSU. That places them in the middle of the pack. But congrats on dominating Tulane and the like in tiger stadium. I'm sure all their coaches were impressed with the stadium.

They were!

P.S. Note that many remarks are even during down eras(some severe) in LSU Football lore.

Good thread

Guess I was mislead when Bama fans told me LSU fans were the insecure and crybaby ones.

I hope the expansions don't mess this up.

Compare the records between LSU teams that finished within 1 game of eachother in the final conference standings. That would give a more accurate view, imo.

ULM didn't seem to have a problem there. In the last 7 years, the only home games we lost were to respectable teams. Before that, we had a few "ULMs" at home but that was due to some pretty bad coaching at the time. Glad someone lured him away...
