Did the Referees Hose South Carolina? Looking at the Potential Missed Calls From Gamecocks’ Loss to LSU

“What a terrible officiating,”

You never want to chalk a loss up to the referees, but South Carolina has an excuse Saturday after a dreadful display of officiating, much of it seemingly one-sided.

Those calls, in particular, really loomed large in a close game. Two caused the announcers to openly question them, while one was flat-out incorrect, per the rulebook.
First, the two most questionable calls.
There’s no doubt South Carolina’s offense struggled in the second half after Sellers left with an injury, and the Gamecocks struggled to get anything through the air.
South Carolina got called for offensive pass interference twice on successful passes. There’s only one problem — each time, there was no contact whatsoever. Even worse, the number called each time was clearly not the correct number.

However, the battle wasn't without controversy. In fact, there were several questionable calls that have college football fans demanding for the SEC to investigate the officiating crew.
Perhaps the most controversial of the referees' calls in the game was the two voided pick-6s that Tigers quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw.
Considering how much it seemed the referees favored LSU in the come-from-behind win, several college football supporters accused the officials of rigging the game. Along with it, many asked for the SEC to look into the officiating crew and take drastic action.

The South Carolina football team experienced a controversial loss to LSU, heavily influenced by officiating decisions. In the game, the Gamecocks faced 13 penalties totaling 123 yards, compared to LSU's 9 penalties for 75 yards. The impact of officiating was underscored by analyst Kirk Herbstreit, who stated that refereeing significantly affected the game's outcome, leading to erased touchdowns and missed calls against LSU.

When playing LSU, you always have to beat them and the refs.

I was pissed at a holding call was called when Sanders broke a long TD run right after LSU took the lead. WR was clearly hold the CB after he turned and tried to get off the block.
So the shite sandwich was served to both teams. And yes, the non call on the block punt was another missed call that went in favor of USCe.

Lonnie….call a crisis number and get some help that you really need right now as the game is really bothering you. You will feel better about yourself.

Kentucky fans are still griping about the officiating from their game with South Carolina.
shite happens sometimes, but over time it balances out.

If the SEC gives us all the calls that leads to a win vs Ole Miss or Bama, I'd be ok with it..

That is a rookie number. LSU fans are still griping about Patrick Peterson being out of bounds in 2009.

I said it in first quarter that usc wr’s we’re clearly blocking our dbs while ball was in air which you can’t do
Officials let it go first quarter but started to call it later and they were the correct calls
They also missed a holding call on first td
As far as picks the de taking out nuss was a bad play by him and nowhere close to play and he’s an idiot for doing it and a lot of times officials miss that call
