After seeing these rankings, certainly wouldn’t let them go to Tennessee.

These 2 are public in name only, more private than most private schools outside the Ivy.

According to the New York Times Ole Miss has one of the wealthiest student bodies in the country. It’s a country club for rich kids who don’t want to go to faggy Ivy League schools.

based on data
Much of the “data” is ridiculous and only things that tenured academics would care about.
For UGA it certainly isn’t based on the student body. The quota system (geographic) prevents them from getting all the top students.

I never look at rankings other than knowing Texas and Texas A&M have always been academically prestigious. I had no clue Florida and Georgia were that high up. That’s brag worthy!
The #1 Public Honors College in the country is The UofSC.
The #1 International School of Business in the country is The Darla Moore School of Business at The UofSC.
Yet, somehow, "the data" has us only slightly ahead of Oklahoma.
I guess that's something to brag about as well huh.
Anyone who views these rankings as accurate only prove the worthlessness of their institution's sheep skins.

Tech is kind of Ivy League institution.
It’s pretty much the MIT of the south. UGA is a good school but it’s not Tech. No school in the SEC is.

UGA can only take so many of the metro ATL kids. The rest go to Auburn

There is no quota system. It’s a myth created by those that didn’t get in. My kid’s senior class has 110 students and 30 were accepted. They were all in the top 90% of GPA, standardized test scores, and AP rigor.

Although UCLA is harder to get into, a degree from Cal carries more weight, especially in STEM. Berkeley is also more difficult to graduate from than UCLA.
Both schools have pretty much the same criteria for graduation.
UCLA Is a branch-campus of Cal-Berkeley. However, UCLA has a slightly lower acceptance rate than Cal.
Cal offers more undergraduate programs than UCLA (150 to 125). Both schools are top-notch academically and both are very rigorous and difficult to graduate from.
The top 10 schools, in a general sense, are very close to each other academically and there is minute and little differences between them in most cases.

Since tuition at USC is $70,000/year, fees are $1743/year, housing about $13,000/year, and almost $8000/year for meals......I might say, "yes!". UCLA is quite a bit cheaper -- still expensive, though -- but, cheaper than USC.

Nothing about these rankings suggest Peers.
Oh, and what year did UGA gain admission to the AAU?

AAU is nice but it’s definitely not some exclusive list of elite academic institutions. The new med school will help UGA too

I agree. I expected Ole Miss to be a bit higher.

They curiously and bizarrely overlooked a school (especially from their subjective criteria) that has:
-The Pennington Biomedical Research Institute - one of the top medical research facilities on the planet.
-One of the top university publishing houses in the country.
-In Carnegie Institute's Top 30 Research universities in America.
-Top 5 programs in: Coastal Studies, Hurricane Engineering, Landscape Architecture
-Top 30 programs in Petroleum Engineering, Geophysics, Mass Communications, Design, Entrepreneurial Studies, Agribusiness, Music & Dramatic Arts,
-One of the most beautiful campuses in the country.
-One of the most diverse student bodies in undergraduate and graduate programs.
-HIghly-ranked Business School, MBA, and Law schools.
-New Billion dollar Medical School in New Orleans.
-Annually very highly nationally ranked in value - especially in mid-career earnings.
-Countless offshore energy company presidents and CEOs.
-#1 student-athletics academic complex - Cox Academic Center for Student-Athletes.
-Tier 1 institute in USN&WR
