The question asks which 1-A schools in the last 100 years claimed 3 consensus national titles in four years.
I dunno which, and I'm trying to see if I can guess without looking it up. Any ideas?
I'm thinking Oklahoma for sure (sometime in the '50s, when they had that ridiculous win streak), and the second... maybe a service academy back in the day? Notre Dame? Alabama?

Wasn't one of the military schools super bad-arse in the early part of the century?

Maybe.
And remember: last 100 years. So all of Princeton's claims from the 1800s don't count.

Princeton was shite. Yale was better.

Alabama in the 60's. They claimed two in a row and missed out on the year that Michigan State and Notre Dame tied and split. They claim it through another poll.

wasn't 97 split between Nebraska and Mich?

Actually, 1966 is one of the years that Alabama strangely does not claim as a national title. They are the '66 national champs in my mind, though.

Oklahoma won 54 games in a row in the 50s. Surely they had some NCs to go with it. Army back in the 40s, Alabama and someone mentioned Nebraska already.

consensus =/= unanimous
Although exactly what "consensus" means is in the eye of the beholder, I think.

Minnesota and Notre Dame, as announced by CBS.

They had perfect seasons in '54, '55, & '56, but I'm not sure if they were consensus champs for all those years.
Army clearly dominated CFB in '44 & '45, but I'm not sure if they claim '46 or not.

So did they give an answer to a different question or did I not understand the original question?
ETA - OK - didn't catch the "consensus" part.
