Really? They list him as "College Football Coach"

I think your post is a little late. Were you asleep under a rock for the last 21 years? What is next, watching LSU fans Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne on their quest to find Mary Swanson? Let us now if they find her.

They probably wouldn't let him drink before his scenes.

Jon Voight did not play bryant in Forrest Gump.
He played Rupp in Glory Road.

Dude to the left of the Forrest Gump 'Bear' looks like Billy Jeff Clinton.

Jon Voight will play Bryant in the upcoming movie "Woodlawn".

Playing Coach Bryant
The role was a challenge, he said. "It's a big mountain to climb," Voight said. "I have the greatest respect for Bear Bryant. Since I respect him so much, I should give it a try. Someone who doesn't understand the greatness of this man would make a mess of it."
The movie opens nationwide on Oct. 16. It features an early scene of Bryant after a loss to USC at Legion Field, going to the visiting locker room and congratulating Sam "Bam" Cunningham, whose epic performance convinced Bryant he needed to more actively recruit black players.

I feel like Jon Voight can pull it off pretty well

Pretty neat that Coach Bryant has so many movies portraying him. Respect.

Bryant's character got like 10 seconds of air time in FG. Donald Trump has a small cameo with about a 10 word line in HA2.

I'm guessing that the actor did zero research
Yeah, but keep in mind that they never actually said it was the Bear in the movie. He could've just been portraying someone who was a coach who just so happened to wear plaid coats and houndstooth hats. And the signs in the movie that read "Go Alabama Go" don't necessarily even specify that it was set at the University of Alabama either, for that matter.

There was a Hollywood movie called "The Bear" starring Gary Busey (before his accident made him insane). It's impossible to find. Word is, the Bryant family hated it so much they bought up the rights and destroyed it.
i have a copy of it on dvd. bought my dad, grother and my copy all at the same time. off ebay. it could've been better, but i still like it.
as for the op. i barely do remember the scene with bear in it, in run forrest run
