Squirrel brain and scrambled eggs was even a breakfast favorite that stayed with some of them for a long time. But, I would never try it.

My mom ate possum, groundhog even blackbirds during the depression.
Poke sallet and dandelion greens were big. Rabbits and quail were a delicacy. Any fish in the river was supper.
