This is how I feel going into the game for Texas. I think the hole Spencer leaves is too hard to fill against one of the hottest teams in the country with one of the better talents as well.

If we can keep A&M to under 6 runs I feel good about the games but we don’t score in bunches and I’m not sure what our pitching will look like this weekend but yesterday’s audition for the weekend for our bullpen guys didn’t look great.

The guy who spends hours a day making Texas fans look bad is calling me an Aggie alter? That's fricking rich

Sounds like a great idea…we can retire to Scholtz afterwards for a brew!

I'm not sure of our pitching rotation this weekend, so it could get dicey, but I think it will be a good series.. most likely 2-1 or 1-2.. I don't think either team will sweep.

Sounded like your rotation is all jacked up with Spencer's injury. And the guys last night didn't look great.

I think if this turns into a pitching duel, then Texas has the edge. But if A&M's bats go off it could be another story.

Hopefully we get 1 win. Anything more than that would be gravy.

We have 7 good to really good pitchers who will be available this weekend.. We only used Burns in the 9th inning, and he is 7th on the list. Everyone from last night is literally the bottom of the depth chart.

RHP Riojas - Sunday SP (my guess for Friday starter)
RHP Grubbs - Setup (if it is close)
LHP Volantis - Closer

LHP Harrison - Saturday SP
RHP Burns - Setup (could maybe use Grubbs again)
LHP Volantis - Closer

LHP Bing - Tuesday SP (he started on Sunday vs Miss State before Riojas was moved to SP)
RHP Flores - Setup (could maybe use Grubbs again)
LHP Volantis - Closer (assuming pitch count is somewhat reasonable - he hasn't pitched all 3 games I don't think)

There are a few other situational pitchers that may come in for a batter or two.. If the game is a blow out either way, then you'll see some of the scrubs we threw last night.

Losing Spencer hurts no doubt, but he only threw 3 innings last weekend and it wasn't a huge issue. I could see us tossing a starter on Friday trying to pass the ball to Grubbs after 1 time through the order as well.

I expect the same. Even if we hadn’t lost Spencer I didn’t expect to sweep them, they’re just playing some solid ball right now. But now I wouldn’t be surprised by 1-2 or 2-1.

Bing has mostly thrown on Tuesday, and while his stats are pretty good, he is the weakest of that bunch imo. He usually starts out a little rough and settles in..

All of those guys have pretty incredible numbers though..

Idk what the story is on Duplantier.. he gave up the grand slam last night and hasn't really pitched much lately. I think he was hurt for a bit.

If I am Max or Schloss, I either move Riojas or use Burns or Bing as an opener on Friday.. that changes the fewest pieces.. if Bing works on Friday, then our rotation is setup nicely.. if it doesn't it could snowball, but if that happens, then I guess you just let him keep pitching or throw out the other guys and try to win Saturday and Sunday.

The Horns only pitched players they don't expect to pitch this weekend.

My guess is that Riojas will move from Sunday to pitch the Friday game, that's probably why he was limited to 3 innings against Auburn last Sunday. Harrison will start Saturday like usual. Bing will probably be the starter on Sunday on a short leash. That's why he didn't pitch on Tuesday.

Just need 1 to stay on schedule. Happy with 2, but not bummed if it doesn't happen.

It’s 2 Texas schools who neither have much school spirit. Expect the stadium to be half empty. Both fan bases are weak AF
