does anyone really think Texas would offer him some ridiculous salary like $25,000,000

With the state of the program currently, I wouldnt put anything past the money that flows through Austin.

If true(and it is not)I would not be that upset. To be honest I would rather it happen when UA is on top. Because the fact is if Saban left or retired today every top HC in the country would be begging for an interview. And every fan base with a top coach would be sweating bullets about their coach leaving. UA right now could get any HC in the country plain and simple. Just a fact.

Two things I know about Tiny Nick.
One,The Diminutive Dictator hates a challenge.
Two, The Liliputian Screamer has no ego.
Thus it is unlikely that the little fella would go to Austin.
Why go somewhere where you might be the first coach EVER to win a National championship at three different schools?
Why relish the opportunity to defeat a school that has an actual statue of you?
I expect that Tiny Dancer, having achieved self-actualization, and possessing a Zen-like calm, will retire in Tuscaloosa.
Especially since it is such a world-class destination with so many quality people that Half-pint enjoys spending time with.

Nice poem, Pimp, but you might consider separating it into stanzas.

...not to mention Bama can and would match ANY salary that Texas would realistically offer.

Not to be a dick but theres nothing he can do at Texas that he couldnt do at Bama besides win in an easier conference. Yeah, he would have the Texas recruit pipeline but hes already absolutely dominating the recruiting trail at bama.

I want him to STAY at Bama. The rivalry with my team/quality of football/Les versus Saban/ is too good. We will never see anything this good or fun again.

But I want him to Leave Bama because the meltdown would be GOLD. People would cry. There would be videos of women breaking furniture.

Well, if that's your criteria for a good reason for a coach to leave, I don't see why you aren't wishing for Miles to take the Texas job.

Everyone knows LSU melts are far more spectacular than ours.

Hasn't Saban been quoted as saying something along the lines of "It's more fun to build the dynasty than to maintain it"

Well, Texas would be another shot at building one. If he won a natty there, too, he would easily go down as the greatest college coach of all time.

No shite. They'd have dumped Mack's over the hill arse in a heartbeat.

Miles will never leave LSU.
He would be unable to leave with me around his ankles.

Ok, I'll admit it. I laughed too hard at this to come up with a witty response.

I know right? I mean I realize that people have this quaint idea that Mack is "untouchable" and that "they can't force him out," but come on.

If they had a shot at Saban, the people in power would have had paperwork terminating his contract ready to hand to him the very second that he said that he wouldn't retire.

I don't get why it is so shocking to everyone that Texas and dozens of other schools want to hire Nick Saban. Why are people going nuts over the fact that someone from Texas called Saban's agent to see if he is interested? Saban's agent likely gets that same call monthly. Saban has no buyout, has had plenty of opportunities to leave, yet he hasn't.
