Congrats. Texas is good at water sports. When is the synchronized swimming team making its debut?

Did you see Texas blow by Stanford in the 4 man race? The Stanford crew crashed and burned 300 m. From the finish line. Boat was dead in the water with their crew crying and not Rowing. All but one boat passed them.

I've never seen anything like it. Just quit and started bawling as Texas girls were pulling away. Thought that they busted an oar or something. Looked like they were going to capsize for a few moments. Broke dey arse, Texas did.

Edit: got this off a Texas Rowing forum that splains the Stanford collapse.

quote:

Stanford 4s were heavy favorites to win. Texas overtook them in the final 500, then Stanford caught a blade in the chop and basically stalled to a halt 50m from the finish line.

Pretty good at football, baseball, softball, basketball M&W, tennis M&W, golf M&W, Volleyball hardcourt and beach, jackassery. Poor in soccer and T&F.

Got anything to add, Fathead?

Truth be told, Texas should dominate any sport it puts its heart into. Massive state with tons of talent. Lots of money. Excellent facilities. Great school in a great city.

The lack of dominance in track & field is hard to understand. Texas even produces a lot of good distance runners (Arkansas gets a lot of them). I watched the SEC meet and Texas finished 7th and 10th. I know they're better than that.

You are spot on in t and f. It’s baffling to me how our program isn’t dominant given the talent in state.

Should only count if the motor boat you were in crashed and you had to paddle your life boat home through shark infested water..... Otherwise...boring.

To the board in general, if you haven't read "The Boys in the Boat", I'd recommend it. Joe Rantz, the main character, would consider rowing for his life through shark infested waters a pleasant Sunday outing. That dude endured and survived a rough life. Very inspirational.
