They've been trending down slowly the past several seasons but now that Saban is gone the wheels start to completely fall off and they lose THREE games and miss a TWELVE team playoff that lowly SMU and Arizona state made?

To be fair….it may not necessarily be the best 12 teams when conference champions get automatic bids.

LSU hasn’t had less than 3 regular season losses now for 5 seasons in a row. Four of those five, including this season, they finished with 4 or more losses.

Once again, coming from a UGA fan...
Kirby and Saban are/were considered the gold standard amongst cfb coaches. And yet, King Saban lost to La Monroe and ended up 7-6 during his first season with the Tide.
Kirby lost to Vander-freakun-bilt and ended up 8-5 with a prestigious Autozone Liberty Bowl appearance.
So, uh...maybe its a weeeee bit early to start casting the program into the Abyss.
