What is big fuss for Alabama and Auburn fans over
Spencer Region
3* OG Recruit
Not even nationally ranked
6'6 338 has good size however
Because scout's national rankings fricking blow.
This guy will be a 4-star on rivals and possibly in the Rivals 250. tharinger.com predicts him to be a 5.8 4-star.
Scout has Kenny Hilliard, a Gatoroade Player of the year, as the #147 overall prospect and #22 RB (behind Hill).
Seriously, their rankings are a joke.

correct me if I'm wrong, and I'm sure bama fans will,..but isn't Scout the publication that is so well sponsored in state by bama fans?...
This could confirm the rumor that the textbook proceeds were funneled to Scout Pay Day Loan company.

Scout>ESPN.
But not by a whole lot.
Its still early though, Region could easily end up a 4 star on Scout.
Isiah Crowell is a star. His highlight video is crazy. Hopefully we land him. I know he's 15 according to Scout and were in it for the number 3 player, Malcolm Brown but Crowell looks like the top running back to me. Both would be nice.

Brown is Texas' to lose. I wouldn't be surprised to see him commit at one of Texas' junior days.

Probably so. I would be more than happy with Crowell. Were in on a lot of big time running backs though so things should work out in the end.
To be honest though If I was a big time RB I don't know if I'd go to Texas. Then again if I was a big time WR I don't know if I'd go to Alabama.

2011 class for Bama will be stacked with studs
Posted on 2/9/10 at 11:45 am to fishcraze
for all the talk about the state of Alabama being back after a down year there are only four there unless I missed somebody and the highest ranked one is # 50. Course I expect more four stars to come and especially on Rivals.

Those guys are the only two Mississippi Natives in the top 150.

CJ Johnson from Philadelphia, MS and Mississippi State commit is in the top 150 at 145.

Didn't this "early commits" thing end up getting you beat in recruting again? Doesn't matter who "commits" now, only who signs 1YEAR from now
Don't worry, we will get ours

There are 5 guys committed in the top 60. Two are going to Ohio State, two to LSU, and one to San Diego State.
Also, I played against Trey Depriest, he's not a 5*.

Maybe, maybe not. Even if it is 100% factual, it is going to change early and often.
I assure you Alabama is in on more elite national players than AU. Something called a national title makes that the case. Of those 33 players in the Top 105 interested in Alabama, I've read articles on many of them expressing that interest. Of course we would be lucky to sign seven or eight of them, but that's still an great ratio.

Still, Alabama really wants to get him.

So, you don't think Cyrus Kouoandjio should be the top offensive lineman in the country, over Collins?

I mean, I'm sure he's got a lot of potential, and he was still pretty good, I guess I just expect a 5* guy to be really, really tough to play against, or just absolutely dominant, and he wasn't. FWIW, I actually thought he was a better RB than LB.

Also, he's not going to Bama, he's going to OSU.

I guess we'll see. He seems to really like Alabama.

Auburn is listed 7 times among the players in this list.
Alabama is listed 33 times
That is to be expected. Alabama is coming off a NC so they should have a pretty highly ranked class. We just need to keep it close, finish in or near the top 10 and of course meet our needs.

There are some posters on Buckeye Planet saying they think Bama is a heavy favorite for Trey Depriest. LINK
I still think of it as a longshot.
