I know you don't have a dog in the fight, and I'm not trying to be combative.........I just disagree. As you well know, head trauma is treated differently. In both how they are evaluated and the proper protocol associated with it. It is the unknown, the hidden danger associated, that is taken into account. Vitals (although one should never take a blood pressure reading of a head trauma patient using a cuff) do not even begin to address these dangers. That is why EMT's are proactively cautious when it comes to head injuries......as they should be. Those EMT's could be fired if they gave incomplete accounts and reporting as well as opening themselves up to lawsuits. I find it hard to imagine this was the case. And the fact that the list of coincidences that would have needed to take place seems to be growing by the minute, does not make a convincing argument that this story is true.

Highly possible since that is where he is living. Makes it easier on the wife and kid to actually take care of him while in the hospital dealing with surgery.
To me the story would make more sense that it happened in Pitt. Holding true that WVU fans beat him and his wife, but making the rest of the story seem way more plausible, i.e. his hospital location and no police report in M-town.

not far fetched at all to believe that the severity of the injury was unknown at that time, and transport to Pittsburgh was allowed.
it isn't at all. I just use my reasoning that if I was beaten in new Orleans I would like to go to the closest hospital and not ask to be driven back to Baton Rouge. Really I guess it would be like asking to be transferred to Biloxi since that is crossing state lines. I have sort of been using that logic during this entire thread.

McChowder throws around several; frontal, orbital, nasal related, but as you mentioned, this could be one in the same.
Broken nose and broken orbital lobe are two separate injuries. The broken orbital lobe requires surgery according to the post (the nose did not) and neither is something easily missed on visial inspection either. You are right, the skull fracture isnt something you would have been able to see.............but the other injuries? Come on man. The guy would have had severe blunt force trauma to the head to incur any of those and they would not have gone unnoticed.
If your loved one was in a car accident, would you be ok if the EMT sent you to a unit 75 miles away if your wife had obvious head trauma like that?

McChowder, again I agree. These details do not follow Occam's razor. I'm just saying it is possible.
FWIW, I highly doubt he even went to Ruby or saw an EMT in Morgantown. Intoxicated adrenaline infused people rarely comprehend the extent of their injuries. I imagine there was a rush to just GTFO of there. Then there was an "Oh shite" moment on the way home when they realized his face was still continuing to swell and pour blood. That is, if any altercation even took place

Not that this makes the situation any better, but I am leaning towards this as well. I've tried looking for police reports in Pittsburgh too. I have found a fb post that mentions some of the actions, says that they are his mother, then at the end says posted by a friend. So idk. I'm scouring his fb friends (657) of them for someone that has a public one and has made a comment or replayed it etc. I hope the dude is ok.

Wikipedia "nasal bones" and take a look at the diagram. You'll notice they're seated between the eyes and directly adjacent to the frontal bone. One good haymaker breaks all of them. It can look like nothing more than a shiner and a busted nose.

This is the logic I have been using. Been drinking all day and he really didn’t know the extent of his injuries. Headed home and the pain sets in. Police might not of been notified until after they got back to Pitt. EMT might not of been called IF it did happen after the game because they didn’t wait around to get a second helping of a boot to the head. Way too many unknowns about this right now. I just hope the guy is ok and was just trying to prove that he didn’t fake his injuries or use the coincidental 2007 MM incident to spam a message board.

Let's all just pray for the guy. I met him yesterday after he cooked jambalaya. I heard about this incident this morning and I still can't believe it, everyone we met were awesome and welcomed us to Morgantown. The story I was told was the culprits through a rock through a side window and pulled Marcus out and tried to pull his wife out while she was yelling I am pregnant. There some people in the back seat that suffered some scrathes and bruising. Apparently the baby is fine and Marcus will have to have facial surgery. I don't understand why they were targeted or if this was an attemped robbery or car jack, but apparently this nice guy who cooked me jambalaya yesterday needs a prayer. You got it.

Praying for him.
I was able to find this..

Apparently his mother.
This could have happened any where, may not even be related to football. Topic title should be renamed.

Yes I know that. But consider the description of the surgery (according to the post) which leads me to believe this is what is called an "orbital blowout". Diplopia would be one of the first symptoms checked for (according to the OP, his vision was perfect.....kinda odd dont you think). You would also have to assume it is a retropultion fracture of the orbital floor. Naso-orbital fractures are not <normally> caused by fists, elbows or kicks (major cause is usually car accidents)......Medial wall blowout fractures usually are.
Also, orbital fractures are NOT treated surgically immediately which also leads this story to be bullshite. They wait till swelling subsides. Surgery treatment for this can be safely put off for up to two weeks.
Visually the eye may also be sunken in if the wall has collapse.

I can assure you there are places in PA that think this is fine.

Guy shared a story from some MS ST board (never provided a name) that said some guy, along with his wife from Natchez that now lives in Pitt got beat in Morgantown after the game.
Same thing was spammed over anywhere from 6-10 boards. People in Morgantown said there was no incidents last night, at least none reported to police and nothing in news or rumor.
Guy somehow got from Morgantown to a Pitt hospital, unclear why he was taken 75 miles away with a hospital in the town he was beat in.
He had more info but he edited it out, no clue why. Provided a Facebook screenshot that gave evidence that there was someone hurt, but nothing yet to backup the story first laid out.

how do you drive 75 miles without a windshield
I have no idea if this happened, but I don't think the original story said anything about the windshield being busted out. I think it mentioned a rock and a window.

Or how about the guy is stuck in traffic and some kids throw a rock through his window and then continue to beat the shite out of him, and nobody else steps in to help or witness to it?
If this is true and it's just neglected by Morgantown police, then I feel bad for the guy. But on the same note if the whole thing is bullshite, the source of it all needs to be beaten repeatedly in the face.

Just for the record, the original post in this thread said that they were waiting for the swelling to go down before surgery.

An LSU fan got his arse whipped bad Saturday in Morgantown. Some WV fan threw a rock through the window of the guy's car while they were stopped in traffic, the rock hit someone in the car, words were exchanged, and then a gang of WV fans pulled the driver from the car and beat the ever living **** out of him. His wife, who is pregnant, jumps out to stop it because it's so bad. She gets thrown to the ground, but her and the baby have been checked out and are fine. The guy has a fractured forehead, broken nose, and eye socket. He's scheduled for surgery as soon as the swelling goes down.
This was the first paragraph of the op. I took this from a quote on page 2 or 3.
